About CMHA
Our Vision: Mentally Healthy People in a Healthy Society
Established in 1918, Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) is the country’s most established community mental health organization. Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) is the most established, most extensive community mental health organization in Canada. Through a strong community presence in over 330 locations across every province and one territory, CMHA provides programs, advocacy and resources that help prevent mental health problems and illnesses, support recovery and resilience, and enable all Canadians to flourish and thrive.
CMHA branches across Canada provide a wide range of innovative services and supports to people who need mental health support and their families. These services are tailored to the needs and resources of the communities where they are based. These programs and services help Canadians of all ages celebrate, protect and support their mental health so we can all thrive in meaningful and productive lives.
In BC, mental health, substance use and addictive behaviour are within the scope of the organization.
Through our family of over 100 local, provincial and national locations across Canada, CMHA provides a wide range of innovative services and supports tailored to and in partnership with our communities. Mental health begins where you live, learn, work and play. Together, we are making a difference.
