It was a different year for Ride Don’t Hide. Instead of a one day bike event, we went virtual which expanded our audience beyond walkers and riders to include ALL activities for mental health – walk, garden, yoga, tennis, read, bike etc. Whatever you do for wellness was your Ride Don’t Hide Adventure!
We are creative humans at CMHA Shuswap-Revelstoke and we felt that it was important to create connection and celebration despite not having a big event. With community riders, we created a stationary bike challenge outside of our CMHA building. Every weekday in June we brought people together in conversation about mental health and wellness in a small but mighty way.
Collectively, Shuswap- Revelstoke had 178 participants who logged over 67,640 minutes of wellness virtually and over 9,000 minutes on the stationary bikes outside of our CMHA Building! The awareness and community outreach achieved from having a visual and interactive presence in our community went beyond our expectations. We thank our community of riders, sponsors, donors and public for their smiles and encouragement. Our community has raised $28,646.00 to support mental health initiatives in our region!
Thank you to our sponsors: Tim Hortons, Askew Foods, Sterling Land Wealth Advisory Group, BDO, Salmon Arm Silverbacks, Bounce Radio 91.5, Salmon Arm Observer, Shuswap Veterinary Clinic, SASCU, Okanagan Rawsome, Mill Tech Industries, Dynamic Path Acupressure, Braby Motors, Marsh, Ranchero and Deep Creek Fire Department and Skookum Cycle and Ski.
